Griddle Philly Cheesesteak

Updated: Nov 12

If you've ever craved a mouthwatering Philly Cheesesteak but found Philly too distant, this simple recipe allows you to recreate it at home, guaranteeing you'll be whipping it up time and time again.

Ingredients:

1/2 pound of lean cut steak. (I use sirloin)

1/4 of a small white onion (diced)

Hoagie Bun

Mayo

Cheese (your choice)

salt and pepper

Recipe:

  1. Pre-heat griddle to medium/high heat

  2. Take your sirloin and a sharp knife. Slice your sirloin into thin strips. 1/4 inch thick or thinner. Then dice your onion

  3. Apply a thin coat of olive oil to your griddle and place your onions on the griddle. Cook for 5-7 minutes until they start to get some color. Salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Next, you'll place your sirloin on the griddle and cook until the meat reaches the desired temperature. Then you will combine the onions and meat together.

  5. Once meat is ready move it into a shape that resembles the shape of your bun and place the cheese on top. Once cheese starts to melt, place the bun on top and scoop up with your spatula.

CHEFS TIP: Toast your bun and add some Duke's Mayo for an even better bite
